AASEG acquires the shares of the Oakland Coliseum from the City of Oakland and the Oakland A’s
The Oakland A's and The African American Sports and Entertainment Group (AASEG) have agreed to sell the A's portion of the Oakland Coliseum to AASEG for $125 million. AASEG recently acquired the other 50% share from the City of Oakland for $105 million, allowing AASEG to move forward with its plan to develop and revitalize the Coliseum and the surrounding East Oakland community.

This public-private partnership with the City of Oakland aims to transform the existing West Oakland BART station parking area, a 5.5-acre site, into a mixed-use project that adds to the community’s vibrancy and rich heritage.

The LAPA Group is an equity partner with The African American Sports and Entertainment Group (AASEG), and is assisting AASEG with developing the Coliseum site in the eastern section of Oakland, CA. The initiative strives to create a successful sports and entertainment, educational, residential mixed-use, and business district at the current Coliseum site, thereby stimulating economic prosperity within the community.
